Departure from the hotel, the tour heads toward the location of Ataco, west of the country. It is located in the heart of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor, at 1300 meters above sea level. This is a zone that is highlighted by its coffee plantations and due to its characteristics is the ideal area for gourmet coffee production of the Bourbon variety. During the tour there shall be panoramic views of the Salvadoran countryside: sugarcane fields, volcanoes, small artisan towns.

Arrival at Finca “El Carmen”, the visit includes a tour around the plantation, the ancient colonial house of the owner which dates to the XIX century and a tour of the coffee mill to learn about the necessary process to transform the coffee beans into a delicious cup of gourmet coffee which you shall also be able to taste. The visit to the farm also includes a native (criollo) lunch. Afterwards, the tour continues toward the colonial town of Concepción de Ataco. There you can visit the handcraft stores that use a lever loom, and observe the textile process being done through the rudimentary wooden machinery.
